iRacing Telemetry

Ensure iRacing Telemetry is logging your car setup.

  • In app.ini in My Documents/iRacing, confirm that “irsdkLogSetup” is set to “1”

Make sure iRacing is recording Telemetry before you drive

  • The default hotkey to turn on Telemetry logging is "Alt-L"

  • When it is on, there should be a "telemetry" indicator somewhere on your screen (depending on HUD arranged)

The telemetry files are located in My Documents/iRacing/Telemetry.

  • They are .ibt files

  • If the folder is empty, and you are using VRS (or other loggers), VRS is likely deleting them

    • You'll need to go to VRS settings and under "Settings -> Data Settings", turn on "Backup disk telemetry files"

    • For reference, this is why my VRS settings look like:

Pls do a short test to make sure the iRacing/Telemetry folder is populating with telemetry files, before you do your 10 laps
